I bet that most of you know Michael Sadler, the voice of Saga. "Clear" is his debut official solo album, although he has also released in 1998 "Back Where You Belong" album which was an online and limited release. Michael seems to be in good shape and his performance on the CD is very good. "Clear" is a soft rock, pop album with some Saga, gospel and R&B influences. It belongs in the light music category and it is not a Saga album at any meaning.

Michael released a personal album and managed to make it in the way that he wanted to and without the fear of creating a new Saga album. It is true that the album has a very soft and light vibe and an 80's feeling as well. To tell you the truth I like it a lot. Why? Because I have far too many years to listen to such a release that is soft without becoming cheesy and it has a strong song-writing as well. I have listened to this album many times now and I always get the same feeling. it's like I'm listening to my favourite Radio Gold station like I did almost 7 years ago! What a sweet and warm feeling. so, as you have understood I have my reasons for loving this album.

Coming to the songs of the album I must say that "Who's Sorry Now" can become the hit of the album, as it will surely satisfy every single pop-rock fan out there. Other highlights of the album are: "Who's Fooling Who", "Too Much Time On My Hands", "Can't Let Go", "Lonely", "One Minute", "In The Name Of Love", "Surrender Your Heart" and "Clear". The production of the album is very smooth and clear and was made by Michael and Gwen Sadler. I must also add that in some songs the L.A. Choir is participating. "Clear" is a very well-written and well-produced album for the lovers of the 80's soft rock/pop, melodic music. The Saga fans will get it anyway...
