Stage Fright ?

Postby MichaelNoi » February 3rd, 2005, 3:06 am

Hello Michael,
do you still have stage fright , when climbing the stage ?
What do you feel, when you face the audience ?
Do you like more play in small clubs or in bigger halls ?
Sagafan since 1979 and still alive :-)

Yes, I do still get stage fright. The only difference is how long it lasts. It's been gradually getting shorter and shorter (now it's probably something like ten seconds, the amount of time it usually takes to look the audience in the eye, as opposed to 28 yrs. ago when sometimes it seemed like an eternity!). But I still believe stage fright is a good thing. I could never allow myself to feel as though I was merely "going through the motions" on stage!
Unless you've ever had the opportunity to be there, it's almost impossible to describe! Suffice to say that, whether it's a large or small venue, the feeling for me is overwhelming! The numbers don't really matter, it's all about the level of intimacy factor.
